August Wood
August Wood

My art finds its inspiration from the wood used, then discarded, by our consumptive economy; material that is destined to be trash. Using this reclaimed wood, I create forms that echo nature's discards – the fallen leaf, the shed feather, the branch broken by the wind. This work is a prayer, an acknowledgment of the divine in everything. It's an invitation to notice and honor beauty in its many temporary forms.
My work has been shown at multiple juried venues, including Mill 180 Park, the Pioneer Valley Artists' Creation Stations, the Lenox Fall Art Walk, and the Ridgefield Fall Art Festival.
